It looks like a form of Geneva to me, perhaps Geneva influenced by the city name Genoa. Both Geneva and Genoa probably have the same etymological source, as seen on these pages: http://snipurl.com/df76 (Geneva), http://snipurl.com/df77 (Genoa).
