For novel: what type of person do you think of when you see these names?

I'm writing a fanfic novel, and I've got names for two, self-created characters of mine. They are:

Eleanor 'Nell' Carter

Stan McLaurim

Trent Cooper

They are teenagers, of about 15 or 16 years old. Stan and Trent are best friends, and Nell is in love with Stan.

I'd like to know what you think of these names, and what kind of person you associate with these names. Like, when you hear a name like Trent Cooper, do you think of some snobby rich boy?

Eleanor 'Nell' Carter: rich, snobby family.intelligant, friendly.

Stan McLaurim: Sporty but intelligant.

Trent Cooper: Differnt, indivdual, intelligent, speaks his mide, doesn't care what other people think of him.

I love the name Eleanor! That sounds very romantic.

Stan McLarium -- reminds me of a newspaper reporter. What kind of guy is Stan?

Cooper sounds "snobby" and "rich", as you put it, but Trent makes me think of a little cutie. Blond hair, big blue eyes, that sort of thing.

Well, I continue to try not to associate personality types with names, but Nell does remind me of a person I know (the only Nell I've ever met); she's very quiet and shy. Thing is, I just turned 16, and I don't know anyone named Stan or Trent . . . kind of odd names, at least for kids my age. If they were real people who lived around me they'd be named Mike and Dave. Every guy I know is named Mike or Dave. Just a suggestion, though; if you don't want to bother with using common names for realism I don't blame you. :)

Out of curiousity, which fandom?

Which fandom? That of "Buffy." :) Nell is supposed to be Dawn's best friend, and Nell is in love with Stan, and Trent is Stan's best friend. :)

It's not going to be a fic centered entirely around Dawn, but merely centered around Buffy and Giles... :)

------- Middle class kind of guy, laid back, but serious. The perfect match for Eleanor. -------

Trent Cooper
------- I don't know why, but when I first say this name, "The Great Gatsby" came to mind. I think of a guy who has a business mind and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. -------

I think they are all good names but Trent is good. Nell is unusual and you should aim for diversity in a novel. Trent Cooper sounds sweet,
