origin of my first name
I am interested to know if anyone has ANY info on the origin of my first name which is Theanna. It was my Grandmother's first name and that is all I know. I have yet to meet anyone that has even HEARED of it and am beginning to wonder if I am the only person in the world with this name! My Grandmother was from the south (Arkansas) so I dont know if it is a southern name or a combo of two peoples name, or what. Any advice anyone could give me on how to unravel the mystery would be helpful!

My best guess would be Dorothea + Anna, and very nice too. Granny was lucky!

I can think of two possibilities:
1. Theanna may be related to the Greek fem. names Theano and Theane meaning 'Goddess-like'.
2. Theanna could have been constructed from the Greek "Theos" (God) or "Thea" (Goddess) and the Hebrew "Anna" (Grace)
