Guscott is definitely not Swedish - I've never heard it. Names with "C" in them are always borrowed from other countries. Are you sure you don't mean Gustav or Gusten (nn for Gustav)?

Guscott, a settler/ invader in East Anglia circa 900ad
The second element is cot = cottage (homestead).
The first element is the one i'm trying to identify.
So the first element may relate to Goths, if it follows the same pattern as Gustav???
Where did the Goths reside? Germany?
