How do you pronounce Giada?
How is the Italian, Giada, pronounced? I assume: soft 'g' short 'a' then 'dah' accent on the first syllable.Does the 'a' rhyme with "Donna" (or Gianna) is my main question, or is a long 'a' as in the English "Jade"? My husband, who's Italian, puts a slight 'i' sound where the 'i' is, stretches the 'a'and shortens the length of time on the final syllable. As an American with the name, how would it be said conversationally?

Maybe she "Americanized" the pronunciation of her name? Or, maybe she, herself, is clueless. LOL. People josh her because she only minored in culinary arts, so maybe she doesn?t know her name, either. :)
