Gosh! I've always attempted something like DeeAYgo (rhymes with He MAY go) - am I overelaborating?

I seem to have heard it my version on radio (don't ask - BBC World Service!) and TV for the island of Diego Garcia - but it is or was a US military base, so that might not prove anything.
