Re: Meaning/Origin of "Wowa"
in reply to a message by Satu
Wow indeed!I once read about the many sons of King George III, one of whom was in the royal Navy and while serving in the South Seas had a scandalous and long-standing affair with a local lady improbably named Wowski. Could the Russian navy have got there first? (I always fancied Wowski as a name for a cat, preferably a Russian Blue.)

Vovka (a little familiar!)
Vovan (for friends)
Volod'ka

Vovkin (ironic {actualy this word means Vova's })and many other nicknames depends on Vladimir's friends
