People get named after relatives all the time and nothing bad happens. If most people thought it was a bad idea, they wouldn't do it themselves. (Judge them by their behaviour, not by what they say they believe.)
What is unfortunate is when gazillions of infants get named after a rock star who then dies of a massive overdose, or - worse - after a character in a soap opera. In both cases, it says that their parents had no imagination, no taste, no independence of mind and no sense. That is bad luck, but it doesn't bring bad luck.
