Subject: "Touclesh".....native american .....need info

I am researching native american names in our family.
Does anyone study corruptions of names in this genre?
I have a 'Touclesh Comer' and am unable to identify where the first name comes from. I am wondering if this is not a old french corruption or english corruption of an ethnic name. Unfortunately, the tribes are not known with the exception of possible Choctaw or Cherokee perhaps another.
Thanks,
Evie
