Does anybody have an idea of how many different first names are known to exist throughout the world (all variations included)?

"All variations included" makes for an impossible determination, but let's say back before trailer parks, the WB, and Jerry Springer (MAJOR sources of name mutations!), the number of "accepted" first names in all languages totalled about 60,000.
I got that number somewhere off the Innernet, and seem to remember it was a UK site, so it's GOT to be legitimate, right?

Coo, that's nice and impossible! Seriously, I don't think anyone even knows how many LANGUAGES exist in the world; not to mention all the extinct ones, and then there are all the dear, misguided people who spell Jennifer as Jenepher ... my head's spinning already. But it's a nice spin ...
