*grin* I guess the first person that ever named his/her daughter Sherry just loved the drink too much! ;) (nt)

Not only the first person - my friend's granddaughter Natalie has the middle names Sherry Amstella after the favourite tipples of her mother and father. If memory serves, they met in a pub where her future mother was working as a barmaid. However, since Nat's father was German I reckon she had a narrow escape - at least he drank a Dutch beer with a reasonable name ...

Her dad had drunk an Amstel and thus gave her Amstella as a middle name? I think that's.... pretty pathetic, actually.

I agree with you, and it gets worse ...The mother's name is Anna, after Mrs Karenina! Her first partner was Graham, and her first daughter is Gra'Anna. Pronounced, as you'd expect, Gray Anna, and with no middle name that I've ever been aware of. And then Natalie, named after the favourite drinks of both parents, plus I'm almost sure there's another middle name in there somewhere but I forget what it is. Father this time round was German, and so presumably accustomed to polysyllabic activities ... nice girls, both of them. There's also a little brother, called Neville after his grandfather, lucky lad.
