My friend's name is Sinead and the correct pronuciation of it is Shi-NaYd.(long "a").

Namenerds.com says it's shi-NADE. In which case there are a lot of little mistakes running around ...

The book "Celtic Baby Names" (Judy Sierra) says:

shi-NAYD (the i is pronounced like the i in big). The stress is on the second syllable.
