Not sure about nationality - sounds like one of those joke science-fiction stories with cahracters like Ford Prefect and Frank Furter.Probably this galaxy ... unless they left for the one next door.

-impressed-First of all I would like to say that i really like your choice of names.
I personally collect odd and unusual names that i find beautiful, or attractive (by means of character.)
I was wondering if any of these names you have created, because I would like to possibly use some of them in my fictional works, but of course if they are yours, i would never.
Of course i simply mean a first name, possibly a last name, never the two together. The ones I am interested in are:Affinity
Dain
Di Arrin (I would likely alter the spelling to D'Arren or something, so no one would recognize the two as similar)
Tao
ZenA few of your names I already have on my list of 400 some odd names (Draco, Tobias and Loki)If I may comment as to your names...Affinity Zardin - Deffinatly sounds feminine. I see this as a women who is very beautiful and/or mysterious. Her age is either late teens to late twenties, or very old. Her eyes very compelling and a mystic aura about her. Men are very drawn to her, and women somewhat jealous, the friends she does have are very loyal, and she is very kind and caring. A very gentle woman, perhaps a healer. The last name suits the first well, and leads to these attributes.Dain Ardeth - The name sounds masculain, or could be a brawny warrior woman. The first and last name both breath of power and of a rugud handsomeness. Their power not only lies in their strength, but cunning and leadership skills, perhaps a bit arrogant at times. I see this a strong, tall, man, handsome, but not to die for. Perhaps a great up-incoming soldier, with great strength in his youth and praise from his superiors, around mid 20s. Or, an older General or commander who has served well and maintains the handsomness of his youth. If he is the older of the two, I can see him being a bit of a ladies man, but the younger, as one to fall in love.Loki Hilton - The snivling rich boy?

Affinity: well i have absolutely no idea where that came from - i didnt even know what it meant when i first decided that i liked it, but i thought it sounded pretty. then i looked it up in the dictionary and found out what it meant, but im just gonna overlook that aspect.I got the name Dain from a book in a series called Deltora Quest by Emily Rodda - great books, check them out one time - anyways, i loved the name so i added it to my little (now long) list of names.the name Di Arrin just popped into my head one day when i was trying to think of a last name for jonathan - he was supposed to be one of those rich kids from spain or italy or greece or another european country, and Di Arrin seemed to work. all those rich familys always have two-word lastnames... :)Tao... tao i got from an online manga comic called zodiak (http://www.luvluv.net/comics/z/index2.htm). i wanted an asian charachter who was masculine and the protective type.and zen... hehe, he was the name of one of the boys of 'search for a supermodel'... tis a pretty cool name, so i used it.you can use any of these names if you want - just as long as i dont ever read the stories with them in it (wouldnt want my charachters to be all wrong). oh, by the way silver, i wouldnt mind having a look at your list of 'odd names' as you so put it. i have a list of my own :)

I'M impressed!! You said just what I would have!
Dain is, I believe, a Dwarvish leader who brings Thorin Oakenshield and company re-enforcements for fighting from the Lonely Mountain. But when the Orcs, Goblins and wild Wargs (wolves) come, Dain's people fall in with the rest of the 'good guys' in the Battle of the Five Armies. There might be a city named for him, I always skim past that part to (Quick!) find out what happens. Y :)

There! Now I've done it again! I meant to stop and add, Is it just that we think similarly, or do most people see those names like that? Y :)

I thought everyone thought like me and i was normal... yea right!!! lol ;)

What is "normal", anyway?? Y :)

it doesnt exist, its like perfection, an engima, a fantasy, lol
vote up1vote down
Perfection must have gone out with the Fall: you never find God saying, "It is good." again in the Bible! Y :)

Normal ain't perfection . . . normal is mundanity. :\(Aside from the nonexistant part.)And perfection is annoying. ^_^
