Please help... can anyone locate the meaning and origin of the name Balian.

Uhhh, this is the conjugation of the verb "bailar" (to dance) for "they (ellos)" in Spanish! Please, please, please do not name your daughter/son this!

Balian doesn't sound or look like "bailan"
It's true that Balian looks similar to "bailan" (like a typo, actually), but the two words actually have nothing to do with each other. And I'm pretty sure the two words aren't pronounced remotely the same either.
Thus, the point is that, as Lumia said, Balian simply is not "bailan". Period.

Meaning, probably no... but origin, maybe.
For more on Balian check out en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balian_of_Ibelin according to which the names Balian and Barisan are interchangeable.
In a parallel universe, BAlian means Shaman and Barisan means army in Indonesian.
I would stay away altogether from anagrams of Balian however (Balian = Albina, In a lab, I banal, Anal-Bi)

Daividh said he didn't know what Balian's meaning was. Neither did Lucille. The reason why nobody else has replied by now with the answer you want is likely because nobody knows.
Sorry, but sometimes people just don't know here. Reposting the same request over and over again (usually) won't magically result in the answer you seek. It usually just winds up ticking off other posters.
