Hi Mark,

Sturup is a Danish place name in southern Sweden (near Malmö)
I don't know what the suffix -rup means but it is a very common place name suffix in Denmark, southern Sweden and northern Germany.

The Stu- or Stur- part could be related to the first name Sture, but I'm not sure about that.

Regards, Satu
