if anyone has information about the meaning of the name Stillman, or can provide a useful link for surnames, that would be great. i don't remember the exact web address for surnames behind the name...which may or may not have the info i am looking for.

It's surnames.behindthename.com , and I would suppose that Stillman means still-man, that is still, like di'still'ing alcoholic beverages in a still. So an ancestor was a wine maker. Y :)
