Hi. New here. And a question....
Just discovered this site as I've been struggling to find a name for a new feline addition to my household. I believe this is the beginning of a new addiction, as I find the entire site fascinating.Upon looking at the Irish names, I found one common one missing from the list, and that is Nollaig. When I was living in Dublin, I knew several men by that name, more often than not whose birthdays fell near Christmastime, as the name is often shortened to Noel (In Irish pronounced with one syllable-Noll). I believe it may also refer to the season of Winter. Most usually a male name, I did know one woman who was named Nollaig as well.I don't know if the lists are updated, but if so, I would think this is one name to include.

I may be wrong here but...I believe Nollaig refers to just the Christmas season (as in "Nollaig shona dhuit!" the greeting used by Gaelic speakers to wish another person a merry Christmas, but it's been about four years since I took Gaelic and very few people I have lasting contact with in Milwaukee speak Gaelic.)You could access http://www.irishmilwaukee.com for more information and get a "quickie" lesson in Gaelic online, complete with explanations and links to other sites.Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)
