It means simply 'hope' in Sindarin (a language made up by Professor Tolkien and spoken by Elves and Men). It was a nickname given to Aragorn and he did not know his real name until he was 20 years old. I like the name and the meaning, but I don't think I'll ever use it. However, if you are not afraid of unusual names, why not?
