Hello !
Does anyone recognize the indian female name Neeta ?
And if it means anything ? I'm adopted from India and my biological
mother gave it to me. I now live in Sweden and found out that there are 12 people with that name here in Sweden.

there is an Indian (Punjabi) female name Neeta which means "upright".

Short for Anita

There are lots of Asian Anita s.

Neeta could be a nickname or short for the name Agneta. The name occurs here in the Netherlands, too, but not often.

With you being of Indian origin, I don't think that your name would be a short form of Agneta (but I think this *is* the case with the other 12 people in Sweden with that name). I can't help you with what Neeta would mean in Indian though, I'm sorry.
