Hello,
I am confused about the explanation of the name Igor to Ivor.
At least in Slavic iGor and iVor are very different.
By the way in russian Igor more related to "igra"==game.
So Igor' for my understanding is more like "gamer"...

Can you please provide me with an explanation of the meaning to my name, Where did it come from is it actually of Greek origin? and also to my surname. Is it typically russian?

'Igor' is a name that was borrowed into russian in the 800:s from the scandinavian name 'Ingvar'.
