Re: this has come up alot lately
Most of those cities have been named after PEOPLE so, would the child's name really be after a CITY - I just think it's silly to think that.

I didn't know Aurora was a name of a city, it makes me think of the princess on sleeping beauty

i knowthat's what it reminds me of too. it wasn't until i did some research that i found out it was a city also.
if i named my daughter Aurora it would be after the Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty is my favorite movie)

I have only read the Disney story, and I always think of her as Briar Rose. When I read fairy tales, I always have to change the characters to be more sensible. I prefer The Princess Tales, and The Ordinary Princess. If I used Aurora, it would be after the Aurora Borealis, which I think is quite pretty enough to be named after.

AURORA f Roman Mythology
Means "dawn" in Latin. Aurora was the Roman goddess of the morning.(The city was obviosuly named after her - there is also a city in Ontario called Aurora).
