Can't prove this, but it looks pleasantly geographical: dale = valley as usual, so Tyn-dale would be the valley of the river Tyne in the north-east of England - absolutely beautiful country, hills and woods and sheep grazing, until you get to the postindustrial waste land where the coal mines and shipyards used to be.I was at school with a girl whose surname was Tyndall; she found a new species of mushroom while doing a biology project! Good vibes all round.
