I dunno if this has been chewed here before, but just how-ever did Bible translators get James out of Jacob?? Particularly the M, where'd that character come from? I can't work it out..

Ya'aqov (Hebrew) -> Iakobos (Greek) -> Jacobus (Latin) -> Jacomus (Latin) -> James. There was a reasonable explanation of why the Romans found "m" more appealing/easier to pronounce than "b", but you'd have to search in the archives.~ Ivayla A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.
