Arab/Judean , from the time of David and Abner. Would just like to know meaning, came across it in my studies, looked interesting, couldn't find anything on it.

Ish = man
Boshet = shame/disgrace

IshBosheth = a man of disgrace (!)
not a very nice name is it?
Still he got to be king for a while...

Its seems that being an IshBosheth is a job requirement for holding any important governmental position in most countries...
