It even sounds pretty I think. Perhaps a little like the name Crystal.
Kira is probably not a crystal, but it sounds crystalline to me.
I must admit that I like names too where it is possible for adults and children alike to hear what letters the name is made from.
My own name as an example is Selwyn. The y is pronounced as a y.
But one could probably well imagine a person whose name was spelt Selwyn but pronounced Selwin. I do not see the meaning of such.
It only makes things more complicated than they already are ;)
