Martia could be a feminine variation on the name Marty, which comes from the name Martin, originally from Mars, meaning "male".

Ps. don't worry about ur name meaning 'male', the name Carol has a similar masculine meaning,'man', quite a few female names are like that.

Martia could be pronounced any way, I suppose, but it looks very like a variant of Marsha, or indeed of Marcia.

Why, and how, did you give your child a name unfamiliar to you? Not getting at you, just interested.
