Message: "Keaulana" - Behind the Name

Hi all - a friend of the family recently named her daughter Keaulana and I am trying to find out as much as I can about it. Haven't had much luck so far and was hoping you can help. I suspect it is Hawaiian. How should we pronounce it and what does it mean?

Hi. Keaulana means strong current. It is pronounced keh ow lah nah. Have you ever heard of Brian Keaulana or Rusty Keaulana, they're my mom's cousins. Hope this helps you.

Hi Deb,

I just found Kaulana which is a Polynesian name meaning "famous". Maybe Keaulana is a spelling variant?
