Re: How common is this name?
In Dutch Delsen is not a name. 'parts' in Dutch is 'delen' (pr. DAY-luhn) not 'delsen'. Can't tell you anything else, I've never heard this name before...

one more thingone more thing 'deels' in Dutch means 'partially', maybe that explains why you thought it meant 'parts'

delsen does mean something in DutchPut "delsen" in google and you will find tons of Dutch language pages with that word in the text. Put that word in Babelfish and you get "parts" ...

last nameI'm Dutch and I just looked in my dictionary and delsen really has no meaning in Dutch. But I did some more research and Delsen and Van Delsen are last names in the Netherlands. Delsen seems to come from the first name Telse, a girls name which comes from Elizabeth, the last name probably means 'belonging to Telse'.

Thanks, Babelfish translates delsen to parts. It seems they may be wrong. Or perhaps it is an obscure declination.
