Re: Mixture of Ebony and Ivory
"Onyx" may be the name you're looking for. Onyx is a mineral which can appear with bands of black and white in it.If you're looking for a name which may signify the combination of the symbolic "black" and "white", then Onyx would do.Onyx is also used for making some quite beautiful jewelry, so you have the additional significance of "beauty" which goes with the name.-- Nanaea

There's also Snowflake ObsidianYou can see some examples of it at http://www.gemhut.com/snwobs.htm if you're interested in what it looks like. :)I personally would stay away from some of the web sites that talk about the "metaphysical" aspects of the stone, though (unless you're interested in what some people claim are the metaphysical properties of stones.)Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

I thought of a name that I didn't think of before. It's a common girls name. It doesn't have "mixture" anywhere in it's meaning but if the child is mixed (with black and white) they would turn out the color Amber. So Amber is a good name. I can see why no one thought of this name. I added a twist to it and made the new name Amberlynne. Beleive it or not, that actually already has a meaning. Onyx is still a good idea tho.
