What is the origin and meaning of..........
My husband and his father are both named "THAYLE" (Dale with a lisp). My husbands grandmother died before he was old enough to ask where the name came from and his father never thought to ask. We have heard that is Norwegin but we don't know for sure. I hope someone out there can help us. We have been married for 38 yrs. and have a son named Thayle, also. I think it would be nice if these three could know more about it than grandma liked the sound. Please send the answer to my e-mail address. Thanks, Cheryl Byington

I too have a son named Thayle. We named him after a friend of my husband who died accidentally at 18. His spelling was Thiel and was thought to be Gaelic. I modified it to be a little bit more phonetic...I never knew there would be others-LOL!
