Meaning of Anina?
Hi! This is my first time posting and I'm looking for the meaning of the name Anina. It's an uncommon female Hebrew name (I "discovered" it on a baby name message board) and I have yet to find a meaning for it. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it very much! :o)Thank you!Kate

ANINA is from the Aramaic, meaning ANSWER MY PRAYER.
ANINA can also be a pet form of ANNA, meaning GRACIOUS.
Variant spelling - ANINAHThe letters featured in this painting are AYIN NUN YUD NUN ALEPH. Taken together they spell AMINA.Each of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet has a special meaning and a story to tell. Here a few brief ones about the letters on this painting.AYIN is the 16th letter of the Hebrew alphabet, has a numerical value of 70 and makes no sound. AYIN means EYE or FOUNTAIN. The AYIN is constructed of an elongated YUD (10) on the right and a ZAYIN (7) on the left.NUN is the 14th letter of the Hebrew alphabet and has a numerical value of 50. NUN makes a sound like the N in Now. The NUN has the head of a ZAYIN. The body is an elongated Zayin. NUN means SHINE, SPOUT, SPREAD, KINDDOM in Hebrew and FISH in Aramaic.
The NUN is one of 5 letters [CAF, MEM NUN PEY TSADE] that have 2 forms - the regular [bent] form used in the beginning and middle of a word and the FINAL FORM - SOFIT - used as the last letter of a word. According to the ancient kabbalistic text The Bahir, the bent NUN represents the spinal cord through which the body is fed by the brain (The Bahir. 1979. Tr. Aryeh Kaplan. York Beach: Samuel Weiser. 31).YUD is the 10th letter of the Hebrew alphabet and has a numerical value of 10. YUD makes a sound like the Y in Year. YUD is a simple point. It is the smallest letter in the alphabet and yet is frequently associated with the very large concept of EMANATION, the highest level in the Four World paradigm of Kabbalah.ALEPH is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet and has a numerical value of one. The meanings of ALEPH are: THOUSAND, MASTER, TEACHING, OX. The ALEPH makes no sound. The ALEPH is composed of a VAV (6) and 2 YUDS (20). Their combined value is 26 which is the numerical value of the name of God - YUD (10) HEY (5) VAV (6) HEY (5).

I found that below on a website. My mother in law (recently deceased) had Anina as a middle name. Which my husband and I plan on naming our next daughter. I think it's a beautiful name, and finding what I posted above makes me love it even more. Hope this is what you are looking for.
In Christ,
Erin

"Anina" can be either a pet form of Anna, or an Aramaic name in its own right meaning "answer my prayer". In Hebrew it is written: ayin-nun-yod-nun-alef.-- Nanaea
