Bronya (Bronye, Bronia). It's a female name, rhymes with Tanya, and is Yiddish, or at least is used primarily by Eastern European Jewish populations. What do you think? Nickname for Bronislava? That was my best guess.

Hi, Norah! Nice to see you around again! Your theory on "Bronya" sounds plausible to me. I'm pretty sure it didn't spring from "Bronwyn". ;)
