I named my daugther Vernice and Ive found out Vernice was a derivation of name "Bernice"- meaning it Brings victory; Strong and brave like a bear; Warrior. The feminine form of Bernie, it origin from Greek.

I know this is really of no help at all, but just in case you have a trip in Italy or something, "Vernice" in italian means "paint", usually the one for walls. Just a curiosity, in fact :)
