Nope, I'm Icelandic :)So maybe I'm wrong, I haven't got a book for this but I'm pretty sure that the Icelandic equivalent, Tryggvi, means faithful, loyal, true etc.. and can mean safe in certain contexts as well.These are all modern Icelandic words: tryggð = faithfulness, tryggur = faithful, tryggja = ensure, trygging = ensurance, tryggt = guaranteed, certain .... and so on.
