Name Origin
Obierta was the middle name for my Mother. White, Anglo-Saxon Protestant, possible lineage to England. Please help with the origin of this name and meaning. Thank you.

The word Obierta means "open", although I cannot assure weather it is a Old Spanish, Provencal or Basque word.
Obieta/Obierta also, are Basque surnames that originated in the province of Vizcaya, Spain. The meaning of the name is derived from the root "obi", meaning hole, cave.Hope this helps,
