Subject: Jacomiah

Many ancestors of mine and other families in the 16-1800's named their children Jacomiah. I have tried almost everything to find the origin of this name. I had an idea that it may be a drivitive of the name Jacob but have found nothing to substantiate it. Has anyone got any info that could help me because it has a great affect on my genealogical research. Jacomiah is male and I believe it to be of Hebrew origination.

Thanks,

Rick Seaman
