does it mean the same?
ok well my name is spelled Joycelyn but it is closely related to Jocelyn and the only difference between my name and Jocelyn is I pronounce the Y. So it's more like Joy-Celyn, but all together. So my question is does my name mean the same as Jocelyn??

The meaning of invented names isn't a matter of etymological fact. It'd be up to your parents to say if your name was a form of Jocelyn, of Joyce, of Joy, or of all 3. Or, if you like, it could be up to you.

In my opinion that would depend on whether your parents feel Joycelyn is a variation of Jocelyn or whether they think that it was a name they invented. If your parents thought of it as a variation of Jocelyn that that's what it is -a creative spelling and pronunciation of Jocelyn.
