Actually I believe vedna means knowledge. Samvedna means sensitivity or seen in another way knowledge of others

The closet Sanskrit name I could find to Vedna is Veda:

Veda : VAY-duh : Sanskrit : knowledge/understanding

I don't know if they have a connection or not though...........
