I was wondering...
Rember Wallace and Gromit? Is Gromit actually a name or was it made up for this show? If it is a name, what is its meaning and background? Thanks in advance to anyone who knows or has anything to add. :-)>> Mac :-B "Just remember: Thursday, the third day. Monday- one day. Tuesday- two day. Wednesday- What? Huh? What day!? According to Wikipedia, Gromit was derived from 'grommet' - a piece of electrical wiring insulation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_and_Gromit#Gromit

I didn't know about the electrical insulation ... when my kids were small they kept getting ear infections, and their ears got fitted with grommets, which were little plastic washers that fitted into the natural hole in the eardrum and kept it open so infection could drain away. Sorry if I've spoilt your appetite for your next meal ... it's what I've always smiled to think of during Wallace and Gromit, and it worked a treat on their ears!

I had them put it when I was 6 or so. They really helped my hearing too. I think mine have fallen out by now though.Eleanor x
