Sarah and Sara Pronunciation in Europe
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Sarah is pronounced the same way in Europe as Sara or if its pronounced a little differently with the 'h'.

Hi Morsa,in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Germany there is no difference between the pronunciations of Sarah and Sara. You can listen to the German pronunciation here:http://www.nordicnames.de/Aussprache.html#S

I live in England and generally we pronounce Sarah and Sara differently. With Sarah, the first syllable rhymes with fair and dare but with Sara the first syllable rhymes with far and bar. Some people pronounce the two names the same though.

I'm from Europe, and I too would have pronounced "Sara" rhyming with "Cara" or "Zara", but I was always told as a child it was pronounced the same as "Sarah" (my middle name).

I would pronounce Sara like 'S-ah-ra'. I would pronounce Sarah like 'Ser-ra'

Well my name is Sahra and the first syllable rhymes with car. I hope I'm not the only who's name is spelt and pronounced this way :D I know some people named Sara that pronounce it like mine, but I've never met anyone named Sarah that pronounces it that way.

Yepp, that's what my ex-boyfriend said about the English pron.
In Canada, however, it is the exact same.
