Craigie
My dad was doing geneology and found a woman named Craigie. She was born in the 1800's and I was wondering if anyone knew of a long version like Margaret that it was short for. Thanks!!

It's also can be her mother's maiden name, given her as a fn. Craigie is a Scottish Clan and also a village in Scotland.

Could it be the male name Craig, given a diminutive ending in order to make it more fluffy and feminine? Perhaps Craig was a family surname, or just a name they'd picked out if their baby was a son ...I certainly can't imagine it being short for anything!
