just wondered if anyone has any idea as to the origins of this surname, It isnt very common from what I can gather but we as a family dont have a clue as to its spelling origins or indeed where the name might have origionated from.
we are from london england and from what we can gather have always been in the UK although im not to sure how far back that goes.
the name is from my fathers side and I know it goes back atleast 3 generations unchanged in spelling.
my 18 year old daughter has started researching a family tree so it would be nice to get an idea of the names meaning itself
