My name is Christine my mums maiden name is Sayles. I found the name Sayles in a English and Welsh Surname Dictionary. It say's
Sayles local 'at the sayles' i.e. the hurdles 'Sayles the upright stakes of a hurdle'.It also say's on another page Local of the sale i.e. the hall , dining hall. Hope that helps. It's a bit confusing do not know what it means relating to a surname.
