Tamer
I saw this name yesterday and I really like it but I can't find it in the database so I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about origin, meaning etc. I don't know if it's masculine or feminine.
Thank you!

I am familiar with the name Tamar - with an a. It is the name of a river in England, and i really like it. Is this what you are thinking of?

Tamer is a male Turkish name. I am guessing it's either inspired by the historic figure Tamerlane, or otherwise related to Timur (check in the database for meaning) but I am open to corrections.

It could potentially be a variant spelling of Tamar?

That's what I thought, since TEMER is a legitimate Yiddish form.
