Top names lists that are not in the database?
I'm looking for countries' lists of the top names (top 10 is fine, although the more the merrier) other than those that are in the database. We currently have these places in the database:Australia
Belgium
Canada
Catalonia
Chile
England & Wales
France
Hungary
Ireland
Northern Ireland
Norway
Scotland
Slovenia
Spain
Sweden
United StatesI'm looking for lists from *anywhere* else, no matter how large or how obscure the country / town / province etc is. It doesn't matter if they're not in English, they're ususally pretty self-explanatory.Links or copy-pastes are fine. Thanks in advance!

I found this list for Israel, 2005:Girls:
1. Noa (as it was for the past few years, argh, with 3% of the girls named it)
2. Shira
3. Agam (this is surprising)
4. Maya
5. Tamar
6. Roni
7. Yael
8. Adi
9. Sarah
10. YuvalBoys:
1. Uri
2. Noam (also the top unisex name)
3. Itai
4. Ido
5. David
6. Roi (ro-EE)
7. Amit
8. Yosef
9. Moshe
10. YonatanThese statistics are for Jewish Israelis, of course - the most popular boys' name for Muslims is some form of Muhammad, for girls it's Ayah.

QuestionHas David never not made the top 10 list for Israel?

I have no idea. There aren't really well-documented popularity lists for Israel like the ones for America. (I hate that.)

And then of course we have that obscure little country called Switzerland in the middle of good old Europe, with toplists of very good quality for the 4 official languages/regions of the country:
http://www.bfs.admin.ch/bfs/portal/de/index/themen/01/02/blank/dos/prenoms/01.htmlI did not check myself because I am too lazy today, but this Wikipedia page might contain other countries and regions than the ones you already have:

For Germany:http://www.beliebte-vornamen.de/beliebte.htmThere, you can find the top lists of names from 1890 up to the current popularity list of 2007, or, when you hit "Topliste: alle Namen, alle Jahre", it'll show you a list of ALL names and years taken together, and you can also look at name statistics by decade.
There's much more to this site, but I won't translate it all in this post - any questions, you can always post here or send me a private message!Have fun :)Sandra
