Lulasom?
Has anyone ever heard this name? I came across it while looking through my family tree. She was my great great aunt, born in the Oklahoma area in the early 1900s. Her siblings all have normal names...

Do you have multiple references to this person, or do you only have one written record? This looks to me like it could be a misprint or the result of bad handwriting, if you only have one reference to it.

Good thinking!I don't know why I didn't think of that, so I investigated. The 1910 census has her listed just as Lula, the 1920 census definitley says Lula, but it's followed by something unrecognizable and then most likely an m or maybe an n. But then it looks like there's something else after that even too. Maybe their pen just dripped? Darn census takers. I know they often put the middle initial in there, but it sure doesn't look like one big letter. Maybe I'll hunt for any names that begin with Lula.
