Good thinking! (m)
I don't know why I didn't think of that, so I investigated. The 1910 census has her listed just as Lula, the 1920 census definitley says Lula, but it's followed by something unrecognizable and then most likely an m or maybe an n. But then it looks like there's something else after that even too. Maybe their pen just dripped? Darn census takers. I know they often put the middle initial in there, but it sure doesn't look like one big letter. Maybe I'll hunt for any names that begin with Lula.
