Re: Popular names in Ireland
I don't, but if you're interested in finding time-appropriate names, you should consider going through genealogy lists. It only took me about ten minutes to do just that, and here are some names that came up multiple times:Margaret
Hanora / Hanorah / Honorah / Honora
Catherine
Bridget
Ellen
Mary
Maria
Kate
Sally
Anne
ElizabethWilliam
James
John
Michael
Patrick
Timothy
Denis
Peter
Thomas
Edmond
CorneliusI took these from a list of baptisms of people by the surname Ryan--the list went from around 1700 to the 20th century, but I just looked around 1815 and 1900 for you. :) You can look for yourself here: http://snipurl.com/1pwy0
And if you enter a different surname here, you can get a whole new batch: http://www.irishgenealogy.ie/search.cfmArray

Being gay doesn't make you a bad person. Not wanting kids doesn't make you a bad person. Perhaps crushing the bones in one little girl's hand makes you a bad person, but that was an accident.A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.

Thanks! I actually did think of that, but wondered if there was a specific site. This was my back-up plan. Thankfully my university library has a subscription to AncestryPlus.com. Oh, how entertaining and useful it is! :)

That's a really smart idea! I would never have thought of that.
Thanks, Array :)
