Zakiah
Hello,
Just wondering if anyone here could help me with the correct pronunciation of the female Hebrew name Zakiah. I am not sure whether it is Za-kye-ah (kye as in bye) or Za-kee-ah (kee as in key).
I appreciate any insight as it will determine if it is in the running for baby! (I prefer the former pronunciation)
Thanks very much!
Lilah

My lebanese grandmother was Zakiah, pronounced kee.I sent you an email before describing that it was also pronounced
"Ski-ye", so my question to you is - How is the "Za" pronounced???
And how is the "ah" pronounced???
I guess my interpertation ties the Za with ki to make Ski.

Liliah,
I had a grandmother named Zakiah (Lebanese) (also Elizabeth)
and the pronounciation by my mother and other family members
sounded like "ski-ye".The "ski" = Zaki
and
"ye" = ahLet me know if you get any other replies.
