Sir Redvers Buller fought (for the Empire ...) in the second Anglo-Boer War; oddly, his surname was sometimes used as a fn here in South Africa, long before such things became trendy. No doubt a way of showing one's allegiance! But I've never seen a reference to another Redvers.His fn was pronounced REE-vers, which gave rise to many a pun and newspaper cartoon when things didn't go well for him militarily.
